BUFFALO BILL: JO JO'S PROBLEM {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about self-centered talk show host Bill Bittinger and his staff, who broadcast from a small television station in Buffalo, NY. Continued from B:51474. Jo Jo calls a staff meeting to tell them she will be temporarily absent owing to "minor surgery," but the crew has already found out that she plans to have an abortion and are generally against the idea. Angry with their behavior, she leaves and runs into Wendy. Jo Jo tells her about the pregnancy and her plans to abort the baby. Woody delivers an apologetic yet extremely hurtful message from Bill to Jo Jo, but she will not talk to him. In his apartment, Bill, alone, participates in some sort of pretend baseball game while mulling over the issue of the abortion in his mind. Jo Jo visits him and Bill wants to "let" her have the baby, promising to marry her if she does. However, Jo Jo reveals that Bill is not the father, much to his shock. Jo Jo leaves Bill in his apartment, saddened. During his editorial segment on the next day's show, Bill goes off-script to issue a message about contraception. Although he does not say as much, it is aimed at Jo Jo and she seems hurt by it. After the show, Jo Jo is left in the control room with no one but Karl and Wendy, and she remarks that despite her good upbringing she finds herself attracted to Bill, who mocks and denigrates her on a daily basis. She notes that she can always "count on Bill Bittinger to be absolutely awful." Karl excuses himself from the room and Wendy correctly guesses that Bill is, in fact, the father of Jo Jo's baby. Jo Jo insists that Bill can't know the truth. Jo Jo visits Bill in his dressing room, where she berates him for attacking her on-air. Bill is furious that Jo Jo was apparently cheating on him and demands to know who the baby's father is. Jo Jo tells him it was her ex-husband; Bill is distressed at this revelation. Jo Jo goes to leave, but before she can go Bill says that had he been the father, he really would have married her. He says hopes the procedure goes well; Jo Jo leaves. The procedure works and Jo Jo, despite feeling extremely worn-out, plans to return to work. Commercials deleted.
