GEORGE BURNS AND GRACIE ALLEN SHOW, THE: GRACIE THINKS SHE'S NOT MARRIED TO GEORGE (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series starring the husband-and-wife team of George Burns and Gracie Allen as themselves. As the star of a television comedy series, the cigar-smoking Burns plays straight man to dizzy wife Gracie Allen, who invariably embroils him -- and their neighbors Blanche and Harry Morton -- in her zany domestic schemes. Burns also appears as commentator onthe action, confiding philosophically to the audience about Gracie's madcap intrigues and predicting their outcome. In this episode, Gracie is convinced that she and George are not legally married and moves in with the Mortons. George tries to find a way to convince Gracie that she is wrong. He asks Jack Benny, who was a witness at their wedding, to talk to her. Then, Harry Von Zell suggests that it would be easier if George goes along with what Gracie is saying and just remarry her rather then trying to convince her of the truth. Unfortunately, when George tells Gracie that she is right, Jack Benny has already convinced her that she was wrong and Gracie gets confused all over again. Meanwhile, Harry Morton refuses to come home until Gracie has moved out of his house. Commercials deleted.
