X MINUS ONE: PERIGI'S WONDERFUL DOLLS (RADIO)
Summary
One in this series of science-fiction dramas. In this episode, an insidious doll plagues a colonel and his family. The program begins as Alma Grayson and her daughter Cindy wait in front of a doll shop for Colonel Henry Grayson, a top official working at the Pentagon. The Colonel cannot meet them, however, because a pilot has spotted a flying sphere while on a routine mission. Alma and Cindy, transfixed by the shop's lifelike dolls, go inside and speak with the owner, Santor Perigi. Perigi demonstrates a doll named Toto, and the mother and child, enchanted by the talking doll, take him home. Soon, mysterious accidents begin to befall the Grayson home -- until Cindy confesses that the doll has been whispering murderous thoughts in her ear at night. Furious, Colonel Grayson returns to Perigi's shop, only to find himself blackmailed by the owner and told the secret behind Perigi's wonderful dolls.
