FOR BETTER OR WORSE {A.K.A. TYLER PERRY'S FOR BETTER OR WORSE}: WAITING FOR LARRY WHITE {SEASON TWO PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series based on the film “Why Did I Get Married?,” about the lives of several couples and their various relationship issues.
Marcus comes down in the morning and M.J. believes that he has not made up with Angela. Angela eventually comes down and tells Marcus that she has decided that she believes his story and that he was not having an affair. Marcus is immensely relieved at this news and leaves for work. However, Angela in private decides that she must “trust, but verify” Marcus’s story and looks up Sabrina’s address. Tyrik is upset that Angela will not speak to him directly and doesn’t seem to remember him, but Leslie tells him not to worry and to do his contracting job to the best of his ability. Leslie lets it slip to Jennifer that Angela actually does remember him, but cautions Jennifer not to tell anyone. Jennifer points to the various marital problems between Angela and Marcus as of late, but Leslie insists that they will work out their differences. Angela arrives at the salon and says that the previous night went “fine,” and that she has decided to trust Marcus, but Jennifer believes that Angela is still suspicious of him. Angela admits that this is the case and that she intends to visit Sabrina in order to uncover the truth. Jennifer and Leslie offer to come along as well, and Leslie is worried that violence may erupt as the result of her encounter with Sabrina.
Keisha comes to visit Marcus on the set of his show and brings lunch for Richard. Marcus tries not to let it bother him, but Todd feels that they are “flaunting” their relationship in Marcus’s face. Marcus insists that he has “no more drama” with Angela now, but Todd gives him a letter dropped off at the studio by Sabrina. The letter explains that Angela came to visit her and that she revealed the truth: that she never met or had a relationship with Marcus, and that she has no children. She apologizes for interfering in his life and says she was put up to it by someone else, whom she does not specifically identify. Marcus is upset that Angela went checking up on him despite claiming that she trusted him. Angela returns to the salon, feeling guilty for what she did to Marcus despite him telling her the truth. She has an emotional breakdown and feels as though she should tell Marcus that she went to see Sabrina; Leslie agrees but Jennifer feels as though this will erode the trust she has instilled in him.
That night Angela sends M.J. to go stay with Miss V. so she can have privacy with Marcus. Marcus comes home and has an awkward conversation with Angela. She tries to become intimate with him but he says he cannot and pretends to start crying. She actually begins crying when she apologizes for vandalizing his property, and he “confesses” that he actually slept with Sabrina and fathered a child with her, and that he instructed her to lie if Angela tried to contact her. Angela becomes furious and goes on a tirade at Marcus until he produces Sabrina’s letter and shows it to her. Angela becomes quiet as Marcus berates her for seemingly lying about trusting him. Angela apologizes for deceiving him and stops Marcus from walking out by jumping up on his back. Commercials deleted.
