FATHER KNOWS BEST: FAMILY CONTEST (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Anderson family -- Jim and Margaret and their children Betty, Bud, and Kathy.
The Andersons enter a family photo contest hoping to win first prize: a trip to Hawaii. Their pastry deliveryman, Mr. Henslee, takes the photo for them, and Betty happily agrees to return the favor by photographing Mr. Henslee and his wife for their anniversary. While at the Henslee residence Betty and Jim learn that Mr. and Mrs. Henslee have a number of children, including Toby, a boy they adopted from South Korea. Betty takes a photograph of the entire Henslee family, and Jim recommends that they submit the photo to the contest. Mr. Henslee declines, believing that they would be unable to leave their bakery for too long. However, his children convince him to change his mind. Kathy, who is particularly excited at the prospect of going to Hawaii, feels threatened by this, as she thinks that the Henslee photo is so good that it would ensure that the Anderson's photo would not win. Secretly she tears up Betty's print of the photo and hides the negative.
Mr. Henslee visits the next morning to pick up the photos and Margaret is baffled when she cannot find the print of the Henslee family photo. Later the Anderson family looks everywhere for the photo, but cannot find it. Kathy observes the rest of the family from hiding. She continues to hide as Mr. Henslee returns; the Andersons search for Kathy, wondering if she knows anything about the missing photographs. Kathy tries to sneak out of the house but runs into Toby waiting in Mr. Henslee's truck. When she sees how excited Toby is about the possibility of winning, Kathy is overcome with guilt and runs away, crying. She confronts Betty and confesses what she's done to her, revealing the missing negative. Betty quickly makes a second print from the negative, and agrees to keep Kathy's actions secret. The Henslee family wins the contest and sends the Andersons a photo from their trip. Commercials deleted.
