GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE HAS TWO MOMMIES (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, Angie continues selling her cosmetics to pay for Carmen's school, but disaster strikes when Max and his ne'er-do-well friend Ricky accidentally set fire to the garage with a bottle rocket. Though George initially suspects the irresponsible Benny, Max admits his actions and his parents are horrified to realize that they are out $17,000, as the cosmetics were not yet insured. As they attempt to clean up the mess, Angie tentatively suggests borrowing the necessary money from either one of their wealthy fathers, though George refuses. After George turns down his small but well-intended offer, Ernie points out that he "knows a guy" at work who may be able to help in an under-the-table fashion. George's bosses deny his request for an advance, and Benny realizes that the family is out of options and calls her long-lost ex Manny for help.

Benny soon travels to Phoenix and meets Lydia, Manny's glamorous second wife, and informs her that Manny owes his son, financially and otherwise, for abandoning him at an early age. Lydia agrees to talk to Manny about George's situation, while back at home George considers taking a secret loan from the questionable Yuri from work, though balks at the idea of making a mysterious "delivery" to Mexico in exchange for the money. Lydia then arrives at the Lopez home and, explaining that Manny has instructed her to deal directly with George, offers him a check for $20,000, saying that Manny wishes to finally "make things right" with him. Shocked, George upbraids his mother for going behind his back, but she orders him to "swallow his pride" and accept the much-needed money. Angie advises him to think the matter over, and George resolves to travel to Phoenix himself. Includes commercials and promos.
