FRASIER: JUNIOR AGENT (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Frasier Crane, a divorced psychiatrist who lives in Seattle and hosts a phone-in radio show. Frasier's show is getting competition from a new radio psychiatrist called Dr. Zach, whose ratings far surpass Frasier's. Martin runs out of cholesterol pills and wants Niles to refill his prescription so he doesn't have to undergo a complete physical, but Niles refuses. Frasier is upset because Dr. Zach is receiving a large advertising campaign from the radio station, whereas he is receiving none. To rectify this he visits Bebe. She transfers Frasier over to her newly-promoted assistant-turned-junior agent, a petite energetic woman named Portia Sanders. Frasier refuses to be represented by Portia and becomes furious when Dr. Zach arrives, convincing him that Bebe is dumping him on one of her associates so she can devote her attention to Dr. Zach. He terminates his relationship with the agency and walks out. Portia sends Frasier gifts and tries to arrange a meeting with him, but he goes out of his way to avoid her at every turn. He believes that now that he has left Bebe agents will be rushing to represent him. Martin gets a call from his doctor and finally agrees to submit to a physical; Niles offers to drive him there. Portia visits Roz at the radio station and tries to contact Frasier, but he manages to narrowly avoid her. No other agents have contacted Frasier, much to his disappointment. Finally Portia manages to catch him and tries to talk business, but he gives her a stern, brutal refusal. Portia leaves and Frasier decides he will act as his own agent, starting by inviting Kenny to come with him to an athletic club so they can talk. Niles is driving Martin to the doctor's office when he gets pulled over by a policeman for supposedly making an illegal left turn. Niles attempts to get his father to show his badge to get him out of a ticket, but Martin only agrees when Niles signs his prescription refill. Niles gets out of the ticket, but Martin reveals that the whole thing was a set-up: the policeman is a friend of his and there was no illegal left turn; the entire thing was orchestrated to get Niles to refill the prescription. However, Niles reveals that he didn't actually fill out the prescription form, thus neither one of them got anything out of the exchange. Frasier and Kenny come out of a sauna and Frasier unsuccessfully tries to convince Kenny to give his show more advertising. Portia catches up to them in the men's changing room, embarrassing both Frasier and Kenny, who are unclothed. She angrily sits them down and convinces Kenny that Frasier's show could be quite profitable in certain small syndication markets. Frasier finally accepts her help and she inadvertently leaves with Kenny's pants. Commercials deleted.
