GOLDBERGS, THE: PASSOVER PROGRAM {EXCERPT}
(RADIO)

Summary

An excerpt from one in this series of daytime serial dramas about the domestic affairs of a Jewish family, the Goldbergs. In this excerpt from an episode about Passover, Molly begins by describing to her children the biblical story of the Red Sea parting for the Jews, after which a men's chorus simulates the Jews singing as they pass through this miraculous opening. Molly explains that the song shows that you cannot kill an idea, since an idea is like the wind in that it blows everywhere. The Jews followed this idea of freedom and God through the Red Sea. At that point a loud bang frightens the Goldbergs. Jake begins the traditional Passover seder by pouring the wine and singing a Passover song. The chorus begins performing the song as well until the narrator informs the audience that the quiet of this Passover feast was broken earlier by the threat of a gang. Commercials deleted.
