Summary
The first in this comedy anthology series that offers a humorous look at life's "trying times." In this comedy, written by Beth Henley and Budge Threlkeld, and directed by Jonathan Demme, Rosanna Arquette stars as Kara, a young woman meeting her fiance's parents for the first time. Max, her fiancŽ, has never told his parents about Kara, and she is nearly paralyzed with anxiety at the prospect of surprising them with her presence at their thirtieth wedding anniversary party. Max's parents are indeed startled to meet her, and Max's mother can hardly contain her anger when she learns Max and Kara have been living together. In this tense situation -- compounded by Max's rude brother-in-law and some bad news Max's father is afraid to tell his wife -- Kara tries so hard to make a good impression that the results are, quite literally, catastrophic.
