DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.: THE ICE QUEEN COMETH (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about teenage genius Doogie Howser, M.D., the youngest doctor in the country, who attempts to live his life as a normal adolescent. In this episode, Doogie and his best friend, Vinnie, chat about their raging hormones, and Doogie reassures him that their feelings are normal for boys their age. While eating lunch at the hospital, Doogie is introduced to Victoria Burke, the new chief of radiology at the hospital. Dr. McGuire tells Doogie about Burke's reputation and her nickname, the Ice Queen. At this point in the telecast, the network interrupts the program with an "ABC News Special Report" with Ted Koppel. Following the news report, "Doogie Howser, M.D." continues, already in progress. Doogie goes out to dinner with Burke and he is stunned when Burke asks Doogie to be the father of her children. Doogie realizes he must do some serious soul-searching and turns to his trusted friends for advice on this serious proposal. Includes commercials, promos, and a public service announcement. This program is closed-captioned.
(During the "ABC News Special Report," Koppel reports that an airplane has crashed at LaGuardia Airport in New York. Reporter N. J. Burkett provides details about the aborted takeoff of the aircraft that subsequently skidded into the East River.)
