MURPHY BROWN: GOING TO THE CHAPEL: PART 2 {SECOND SEASON FINALE} (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about Murphy Brown, a high-profile, successful broadcast newswoman, and her colleagues at the news magazine "FYI." In this episode, part two of a two-part season finale, Corky plans to marry her childhood friend, Will Forrest. The episode opens with "Entertainment Tonight" hosts John Tesh and Leeza Gibbons reviewing Corky and Will's whirlwind romance and engagement. Complications arise when Corky gets cold feet and runs off with Murphy's bohemian house painter, Eldin, for a whole night. When Corky finally returns, she discusses her apprehensions with Will, and they reach a mutual agreement about plans for their married lifestyle. Corky joyfully reschedules a cancelled trip to Paris to work on a news story, leaving Murphy to handle the wedding plans for her. At the lavish wedding, a frazzled Murphy tries to finalize details and fend off the press, Jim and Doris reminisce about their wedding day, Frank tries to pick up guest Kathleen Sullivan, and Miles introduces his date, whom he hardly knows, as his steady girlfriend. But when the publicity-crazed press keeps hounding Corky and future in-laws begin fighting, she realizes that she had envisioned her wedding day differently and begins once again to feel doubtful. The episode includes cameo appearances by Candice Bergen's mother, Frances, as Will's mother, and the music group the Temptations. Commercials deleted.
