
KNOTS LANDING: THE QUESTION GAME (TV)
Summary
One in this night-time drama serial, spun off from the series "Dallas," about the residents of the small southern California community of Knots Landing. Highlights of this episode include the following: Linda Fairgate meets with Brian Johnston, who is hiding out at a motel, and he tells her he killed the private detective hired by his wife to follow him; Johnston demands that Linda go to San Francisco and retrieve his gold coins or he will show Greg Sumner the video he made of himself and Linda having sex; Paige is seen in a series of scenes having romantic rendezvous with Pierce Lawton; Kate Whittaker is furious with her mother Claudia because she believes Claudia planted a gun on Steve Brewer so that he wouldn't get any of Greg Sumner's fortune; Claudia tries to explain what happened, but Kate cuts her off and says she hates her; Gary tells a delighted Professor Joseph Barringer -- who is working on a concept for a device that derives energy from ocean waves -- that he wishes to finance a prototype; Larry Riley, who is serving as Karen MacKenzie's lawyer, and her husband Mack tell her she must convince the D.A. that she's innocent of killing a teen; Paige and Pierce play a question game in which each must answer very personal questions about his or her past; Kate moves to a new apartment without giving Claudia a forwarding address; Claudia tells Greg she called the police on Steve to save Kate from being shot by him; Benny Appleman asks down-on-her-luck Anne Matheson to help him take pictures of an adulterous liaison for money; Karen is questioned by the D.A., who says he will make a deal if she pleads guilty to reckless endangerment, which infuriates Mack; the media pounce on Karen on her way out of the D.A.'s office, telling her she has become a hero of the public for supposedly striking back at gang violence; when Pierce tells Paige he's falling in love with her, Paige warns him that their relationship is moving too fast; Gary and Mack bring Barringer's "Tidal Power" idea to Greg Sumner, who turns them down while actually stealing the idea; Karen attempts to attend the funeral of dead teen Danny Morgan but is told to leave; Greg informs Kate that her mother did not plant the gun; Gary tells Barringer that Sumner passed on the project, but he himself has decided to finance it; after Benny and Ann botch their undercover photo job, Ann suddenly has an idea: She asks Benny to shoot nude photos of her which they will sell to a "Lears"-like magazine; Linda returns to Johnston with the coins and receives the compromising sex video in return; Paige admits to Pierce that she is in love with him; Linda pays a visit to Johnston's wife and says she knows where her husband is. Commercials deleted.
