ROSEANNE: DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL {THE GLASER FOUNDATION FIRST AMENDMENT COLLECTION} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Roseanne and Dan Conner, a working-class couple who live in Lanford, Illinois, and their three kids, D.J., Darlene, and Becky. In this controversial episode, Nancy and her new girlfriend, Sharon, played by Mariel Hemingway, ask Roseanne and Jackie to go dancing with them. Jackie, who is visibly pregnant, is reluctant to go to a gay bar, but Roseanne wants to prove that she can handle it and drags Jackie along. When Sharon surprises Roseanne by kissing her at the bar, Roseanne is afraid to tell Nancy -- but ultimately neither Sharon nor Nancy thinks that the kiss is a big deal. Roseanne still seems disturbed, however, and Nancy thinks the reason is that Roseanne actually liked the kiss and will not admit it. Dan, who is accustomed to beating up people who make passes at his wife, is uncertain how to react. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
