DOCTORS AND THE NURSES, THE: THE GIFT (TV)
Summary
One in this medical drama series about the lives of the nurses at Alden Hospital. In this episode, a man named Arthur Luskin decides that he can no longer deal with the fact that his mother and wife run his life for him and attempts to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head. The Alden medical staff manages to save him, but the left side of his body is paralyzed. In need of physical therapy, Luskin remains in the hospital where he is watched over by Nurse Kelly. At first Luskin refuses to communicate with anyone or do anything to help himself, but when Nurse Kelly informs him that if he does not regain his strength he will stay in the hospital indefinitely, where he will never succeed in taking control of his life, Luskin decides that he has something to work for. He manages to build up his strength so that he can return home. Kelly goes with him as his private nurse, believing that it is up to her to prove to him that he has a reason to live before it is too late. Includes commercials
