TOM SNYDER {JAMES BROWN, JOHN PIZZARELLI} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of talk shows hosted by Tom Snyder. In this program -- actually the first half of an hour-long program -- Snyder interviews funk singer James Brown, the "Godfather of Soul." Topics include the following: a line of cookies which Brown is selling; Brown's thoughts on the "Stop the Violence" campaign, which is aimed at making America a safer place; the legalization of drugs; the commendation recently presented to Brown by the Veteran of Foreign Wars for entertaining troops during the Vietnam War; the strenuous nature of soccer; and Brown's love of baseball. Brown then sings a segment of "Georgia," before taking viewer phone calls. CBNC anchor Sheila Stainback provides news updates between segments, including reports on U.S. aid being sent to Rwanda and a comet slamming into the planet Jupiter. Also includes a musical performance by guitarist John Pizzarelli. Includes commercials and promos.
