Summary
One in this series of dramas that deals with the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of criminals. The first half of each episode concerns the police procedure that leads to the arrest of a suspect, while the second half covers the efforts of the district attorney to prosecute the case. In this episode, detectives Cerreta and Logan investigate the assassination of the leader of the African American Congress, A.A.C. After much investigation, they arrest a white man whose ex-wife had an affair with the deceased. He is prosecuted for the crime, but the jury finds him innocent. Assistant district attorneys Robinette and Stone realize that there may be more to the killing than meets the eye when there are hints of internal problems within the A.A.C. Meanwhile, both the detectives and the prosecuting attorneys find it difficult to please the members of the A.A.C. who feel that the system is against them because they are black. Commercials deleted.
