PICKET FENCES: MR. DREEB COMES TO TOWN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of off-beat dramas that often focuses on social issues as it chronicles the lives of Rome, Wisconsin, residents, including town Sheriff Jimmy Brock; his wife Dr. Jill Brock; their three children, Kimberly, Matthew, and Zachary; and his two deputies, Kenny Lacos and Maxine Stewart. In this episode, a circus midget named Mr. Dreeb rides a stolen elephant into Rome to protect it from cruel trainers and vivacious high school teacher Stephen Pankow is diagnosed with a brain tumor that could terminate his career, if not his life. While the misappropriated elephant is sheltered in the Brocks' garage to allow Judge Bone time to ponder the case, Dreeb begins courting Maxine, one of the deputies who arrested him for grand larceny. Meanwhile, Pankow must decide if he should endure an extremely risky, potentially lethal, operation to remove his malignant tumor or allow the gradual deterioration of his brain. Commercials deleted.
