HONG KONG PHOOEY: THE COMEDY COWBOYS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of animated programs about Penrod Pooch, a janitor in a police department who battles crime disguised as Hong Kong Phooey, a canine martial artist. In this episode, Penrod Pooch visits the Wild West Museum and notices Tin Nose, a strange man on a metal horse, stealing a map leading to a lost treasure of the old west. Penrod immediately transforms into Hong Kong Phooey and attempts to stop the evildoer, but soon finds himself handcuffed by Sergeant Flint, who thinks Phooey has begun a life of crime. In the "number one super guy's" absence, various crime solvers from the west graciously step in to help track down Tin Nose and clear Hong Kong Phooey's name. Those helping out include: Pancho, a well-known detective; Mystery Maverick, a super hero on horseback; and the sheriff of a small town. In the end, however, Tin Nose accidentally wanders into Hong Kong Phooey's cell. With the help of his "Hong Kong Phooey Book of Tricks" and his trustworthy feline companion, Spot, the resourceful Phooey manages to clear his name. Commercials deleted.
