PAUL REISER: OUT ON A WHIM (TV)

Summary

This comedy special, featuring actor/comedian Paul Reiser, interweaves the funnyman's stand-up comedy routine with a storyline in which Reiser becomes infatuated with a beautiful woman he sees in a dream. The stand-up routine addresses the following topics: when he first came out to California; taking a long trip in a car with a radio that doesn't work properly; listening to music in different languages; trusting people you don't know; the importance of material possessions relative to health; never admitting that you've actually watched a particular television show; losing your patience as you get older; listening to dumb questions; salesmen trying to do too much for the average customer; how dogs and men think exactly alike; and the excitement that comes with having the exact change when you purchase something. Following his routine, Reiser glances into the front row to see the beautiful woman from his dream sitting there. After the show, he starts his search for her by following clues that people give him along the way. Arriving at his final destination, Reiser meets "the guy," who tells him the meaning of life. This program is closed-captioned.
