KARAOKE: FOUR {EPISODE #4} (TV)

Summary

Continued from T:43607. Part four in this four-part miniseries, created by British television writer Dennis Potter, which investigates Potter's familiar obsessions with the confluence of art and life and the interplay between memory and fantasy, as it examines the strange occurrences happening to television writer Daniel Feeld. In part four, while writing his will, Feeld comes across a newspaper clipping on his desk that shows the real "Pig" Mailion with some notes scribbled on the clipping reminding him to develop that character for "Karaoke." He now realizes that legal action can be taken and wonders if any other suits will ensue. Nick is followed to the editing room by two of Mailion's thugs, who send a physical message to Nick about how the character of Mailion in the film should be portrayed. Ben reads part of Feeld's will to Sandra and she doesn't understand why Feeld is leaving most of his money to her, considering she barely knows him. The doctor discusses Feeld's life-expectancy after some tests show that his cancer is spreading. The only thing that Feeld is worried about is whether he'll have enough time to finish his next project about cyberspace and cryogenics. Nick, beaten-up badly by Mailion's thugs, tells his wife about his affair with Linda. Ben brings Sandra to the hospital to visit Feeld, who expresses his feelings for her despite the fact he doesn't know her at all. Sandra must promise that she won't retaliate against Mailion in order to abide by Feeld's will and collect the money he's leaving for her. She promises that she won't go against his wishes but vows revenge anyway as she leaves the hospital. Feeld leaves the hospital and goes to Mailion's karaoke club in order to protect Sandra from doing something foolish.

"Cold Lazarus" is part of the Museum's collection. See T:43601 through T:43604.)
