BARNEY & FRIENDS {BARNEY AND FRIENDS}: THE TREASURE OF RAINBOW BEARD (TV)
Summary
One in this series of musical children's programs featuring a magical, purple dinosaur named Barney. In this program, Barney teaches the children about shapes and colors. As the program begins, one of the children reads his friends a story about a pirate named Rainbow Beard who hid his treasure map. Then, the children sing "A Hunting We Will Go." Eager to find a treasure, the children decide to use their imaginations to help them on the hunt. Barney appears and decides to join in the fun: he carries a magic bottle, which he claims contains the missing treasure map from the story. When they open the bottle, a magical image of Rainbow Beard appears and tells the children about the shapes and colors on a map that will lead the kids to the treasure. During the hunt, the children sing "The Green Grass Grows All Around," a song about shapes, "The Old Brass Wagon," "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," and a rainbow song. Also, the children play a game, "Find the Color," that uses rhymes, and Barney searches his bag for materials that the children can use to make telescopes. Eventually, they find a treasure chest and a very unique treasure. Toward the end of the program, Barney sings "I Love You" with the children. As the program concludes, Barney reviews the topics covered.
