PRACTICE, THE: AXE MURDERER {PART 2 OF 2} {CROSSOVER EPISODE WITH "ALLY MCBEAL"} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas about the idealistic attorneys at a struggling Boston law practice. Part two of a two-part crossover story between "Ally McBeal" and "The Practice," two legal drama series created by David E. Kelley. In this concluding episode, the practice, with the help of neurotic attorney Ally McBeal, continues to defend Maria Hanson, a woman accused of murdering her husband with an axe. The defense relies on the testimony of Mrs. Hanson's psychiatrist, Dr. Peters, who has used hypnotherapy to determine that she was the alleged murderer Lizzie Borden in a past life. Ostensibly, Mrs. Hanson was in the midst of a flashback to her previous life when she killed her husband. However, when the prosecution unearths information about a relationship between Mrs. Hanson and Dr. Peters, Eugene and Bobby develop a new theory and accuse the doctor of the murder. Upon taking this tactic, the case culminates in an act of violence that leaves everyone involved deeply disturbed, particularly Ally, Eugene, and Bobby. Also, Rebecca and Jimmy go undercover to research an insurance scam. Unfortunately, their case against a sketchy chiropractor has a serious impact on Ellen's chances for love. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements.
