DHARMA & GREG {DHARMA AND GREG}: RINGING UP BABY {SECOND SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about two unlikely soulmates: Dharma, a yoga instructor who was raised by hippies, and her husband Greg, an assistant U.S. attorney for the Justice Department. In this episode, Dharma learns that Donna, the check-out clerk at the grocery store, has been abandoned by her boyfriend late in her pregnancy. Sympathetic to her plight, Dharma invites Donna to move in with her and Greg during the pregnancy. When Donna admits that she plans on giving up her baby for adoption, Dharma decides that she and Greg ought to be the new adoptive parents. Greg is horrified by the idea of adopting a stranger's baby on a whim, although Dharma reassures him that Donna is not a stranger because she's their "check-out girl." Greg tries to enlist her parents' help in changing Dharma's mind, but they are thrilled by such a random act of kindness as adoption. When Donna goes into labor, Dharma arranges for Abby to act as midwife rather than send Donna to the hospital, and the Finkelsteins and the Montgomerys show up at the couple's apartment for the baby's birth. Ultimately, some discoveries and decisions are made that surprise everyone. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. Commercials include Joan Lunden for Claritin allergy medicine. This program is closed-captioned.
