SOMERSET {CARRIE'S UNSETTLING SURPRISE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of daytime serials -- a spin-off from the long-running series, "Another World" -- set in Somerset, a town not far from Bay City, Illinois.
As this episode begins, Carrie is shaken from yet another unsettling episode -- someone has secretly placed a dead bird in her purse. Subsequently, Jerry tells one of his patients how seriously Carrie was affected by the murder of her half-brother Greg. Meanwhile, Julian, as editor of the Somerset Register, is dealing with a series on crime in the suburbs by brash television reporter Avis Ryan. He pledges his newspaper's commitment to uncover the truth about Greg's murder as an obligation to the community. And although Vicky is impressed with his sentiments, she is wary of Avis's manner. (Series title varies; this series was also telecast under the title, "Another World -- Somerset," from 1970 to 1971.)
