CATDOG: SEND IN THE CATDOG / FISHING FOR TROUBLE / FETCH {SECOND SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this animated children's series about a unique animal that has two separate identities -- a cat on one end of the body, and a dog on the other. In the first story, "Send in the Catdog," Dog decides to attend clown school, although Cat dislikes the idea. A gruff clown named Sergeant Sillybells runs the school military-style, forcing the student clowns through "silly drills" of falling on banana peels and hitting themselves with pies. Dog loves the school, but Cat fails miserably as a clown -- until they are sent on their first assignment to Susie Sourpuss's birthday party. In "Fishing for Trouble," Cat and Dog go to a carnival, where Dog stuffs his face with all kinds of snacks. When they win a prize at a game, Dog chooses a goldfish named Veronica. But at home, Cat cannot resist and swallows the fish while Dog is sleeping. But strange things happen to Veronica when she swims around in all the carnival snacks in Catdog's stomach: when Catdog sees Veronica again, she is no longer a cute little goldfish. Finally, in "Fetch," Catdog is torn by separate instincts: Cat is trying to hear if he has won a radio contest, while Dog is overwhelmed by the urge to play fetch outdoors. Just as Cat finds he has won the contest and must call the radio station in five minutes, Winslow throws Dog's ball outside. Following his instinct, Dog runs furiously after his ball, dragging Cat with him, away from the radio and telephone. A wild goose chase across the country ensues, but Cat manages to get to a telephone. In the end, Cat wishes he had never entered the contest. Commercials deleted.
