PRACTICE, THE: HAPPILY EVER AFTER {THIRD SEASON FINALE} (TV)

Summary

The third season finale in this series of dramas about the idealistic attorneys at a struggling Boston law practice. In this episode, Lindsay ends up in a coma when she is stabbed by someone who appears to be a nun, late one night. Consequently, Helen questions all of the nuns in Sister Caroline's order, thinking that one of them might have wanted to get revenge since Lindsay successfully defended Sister Caroline's killer, Michael Kingston. Further complications arise when Jimmy finds a defaced photograph of Lindsay in Judge Kittleson's chambers, leading to the judge's wrongful arrest as a suspect. Once Lindsay regains consciousness, she tells Bobby that the "nun" who stabbed her was really a man dressed in a habit. This fact leads them to believe that Kingston himself may be the culprit. The police locate him, and when he draws a gun, they shoot and kill him. Meanwhile, Bobby's defense of murder suspect Joseph Watson is tinged by a hatred of criminals now that Lindsay's life is in danger. Judge Hiller, who is also affected by Lindsay's plight, takes a stand against legal technicalities and denies Bobby's motion to suppress his client's confession. Lindsay begins to recover her strength, and Bobby, afraid to lose her again, proposes marriage. However, unbeknownst to them all, the "nun" is still on the loose.
