DREAM ON: THE UNDERGRADUATE {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a publishing company employee named Martin Tupper whose thoughts become animated through black-and-white clips of old television shows. In part one of this two-part episode, Martin maintains an affair with his office's college-aged "bagel girl," Julie. That night, Martin invites Julie to his place to help her study, but instead the two engage in extracurricular activities all over the apartment. By morning, Martin and Julie are woken by Jeremy and Judith's arrival. Quickly, Julie seems to have much in common with Jeremy. Judith is taken aback that Martin is dating such a young girl, even wanting to write a post-doctoral paper on the "case." Later, Martin meets Julie's attractive mother, Kate, and is immediately smitten, now more interested in her than her daughter. Soon, Martin is pressing Julie for information about Kate. Martin reveals to Judith that he has a crush on Kate, shocking her. That night, when Julie comes over, Martin breaks up with her. Julie doesn't care, but can't understand why Martin would want to date her "old" mom. She also reveals that Kate hates Martin. Nevertheless, Martin arrives at Kate's catering business to ask her out for dinner, which she refuses. Martin continues to press Kate and she admits that she just isn't interested in romance. That night, when Kate returns home, she finds Martin in her courtyard with a romantic meal laid out. Even that doesn't sway Kate, however.
