STUDIO ONE: BATTLESHIP BISMARCK (TV)

Summary

One in this live dramatic anthology series. This adaptation by Worthington Miner traces the naval battles of the German battleship Bismarck. After an initial victory against two British ships, the Hood and the Prince of Wales, in which no British survivors were allowed to be picked up, the morale of the men on the Bismarck deteriorates. There is also a division between the true navy men and the Nazis which causes the ship to be put into danger. During a subsequent battle the ship is abandoned by the German high command and eventually falls to Allied strength. Includes commercials.
