BURKE'S LAW: WHO KILLED HAMLET? (TV)
Summary
One in this police drama series about the homicide investigations of millionaire Los Angeles police Capt. Amos Burke, who speaks in witty puns and is known for having his own set of "laws." In this episode, an actor ceases "to be" while rehearsing a scene from "Hamlet." Burke is called in to find the villainous person who put the actor into a permanent state of sleep. His suspects include the following: the producer of the play, who was plotting to "put the pox" on the actor for his lack of talent; the actress playing Hamlet's mother, who felt that the deceased "hath done her wrong" by upstaging her; the stage manager, who "doth protest too much"; and the actor portraying Polonius, who hath no alibi. In addition, Burke must contend with a beatnik biker, who behaves as though he just stepped out of "The Wild One," and his lady love of the week, who happens to be a reporter in search of an exclusive story.
