In this program, Collingwood examines America's deepening military involvement in South Vietnam, currently ruled by the interim government of Gen. Nguyen Khanh. Collingwood reviews the history of warfare in Vietnam, up to the Kennedy administration's escalation of involvement, and the November 2, 1963 coup leading to the death of President Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother Nhu. Highlights of this program include coverage of the following: Madame Ngo Dinh Nhu accuses the U.S. of imperialistic purpose; Kalischer describes U.S. military operations at the Cambodian border; Gen.
