LAURENCE OLIVIER PRESENTS: DAPHNE LAUREOLA (TV)

Summary

This drama is an adaptation of the 1949 play by James Bridie, which examines the conflict between youthful romanticism and middle-aged pragmatism. The story begins as a young man, Ernest, meets and falls in love with the married, middle-aged Lady Pitts. Lady Pitts, however, refuses to allow herself to be worshipped. Ernest learns of Lady Pitts's early life and leaves her, vowing never to return. When Lady Pitts' husband dies, Ernest returns, but discovers a surprise.
