FLINTSTONES, THE: THE FLINTSTONE FLYER {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this animated series set in the Stone Age, concerning the daily activities of middle-class suburbanites Fred and Wilma Flintstone and their neighbors Barney and Betty Rubble. In this episode, Fred is disturbed by a noise in Barney's backyard and is shocked to discover a contraption his friend has made -- a flying machine. Barney successfully demonstrates the machine, but when Fred tries out the device for himself, he crashes and bangs his head. That evening, which happens to be Fred and Barney's bowling night, Wilma reminds her husband they are supposed to go to the opera with the Rubbles. Fred devises a scheme involving his aching head so that he and Barney can miss the opera and enjoy a night of bowling instead. They use Barney's flying machine to avoid their wives while in town but receive a scare when Wilma and Betty enter the bowling alley to use the phone. Disguising themselves with fake mustaches, they make a narrow escape. However, they must rush home before Wilma and Betty or else they will get in big trouble. Commercials deleted.
