Summary
One in this ongoing series of dramas presented under the umbrella of "Masterpiece Theatre" and hosted by Alistair Cooke. Part one of seven in this series based on Elspeth Huxley's memoirs of her childhood in Kenya. The drama tells the story of the Grant family's move to Africa in 1913 to run a coffee plantation, where they remain, despite the unpredictable climate and threat of wild animals, until the outbreak of World War I. This installment includes clips of "Lion," a film by Peter and Jane Chermayeff.
