BULLWINKLE SHOW, THE: RUBY YACHT OF OMAR KHAYYAM
(TV)
Summary
One in this animated series about two friends -- a
gormless moose named Bullwinkle and an intelligent
flying squirrel named Rocky -- and their frequent
encounters with their arch enemies, Soviet spies Boris
Badenov and Natasha. In this episode, Bullwinkle and
Rocky travel to Frostbite Falls for the Flotilla
Festival. Bullwinkle decides to enter a boat race, but
is shocked when his boat sinks to the bottom of the
lake. But Bullwinkle is pleased when it reemerges
cleaner than ever. The boat is made of rubies and the
name Omar Khayyam is written on it. After much
research, Rocky surmises that the boat is the Ruby Yacht
of Omar Khayyam. Wishing to sail his boat again,
Bullwinkle places an advertisement in the paper. But
the ad is altered and instead of stating that Bullwinkle
wishes to sail the yacht, it states that he wishes to
sell the yacht. Much to the moose's chagrin, a pushy
man from Pakistan arrives with an army to gain
possession of the yacht. Other highlights of this
program, include the following segments: Bullwinkle
attempts to pull a rabbit out of his hat, but as usual
fails; in the "World of Colonel McBragg," the colonel
proves that camels really are "ships of the desert"; in
"Fractured Fairy Tales: Rumpelstiltskin Returns," a
woman trades her first born son for the ability to win
contests, but the buyer of the boy, Rumpelstiltskin, is
not happy with the child he receives; and in
"Bullwinkle's Corner," Bullwinkle recites a poem about
losing a pin. Commercials deleted.
