CAGNEY & LACEY {CAGNEY AND LACEY}: FAVOURS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about two policewomen, Chris Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey. In this episode, Cagney and Lacey are staking out a bar out of which a loan shark named Rekubian runs his operation. While watching the videotape of the suspects, one face looks very familiar but the detective can't place it. To make Cagney's life even more hectic, she has been chosen to write the progress evaluation reports, and all the detectives begin to butter her up. Meanwhile, Lacey's twelve-year-old son, Michael, tells her that he was offered marijuana by his friend who lives next door. Rekubian gets nabbed and the detectives have to figure out the codes in his money book. As it turns out, the one suspect nobody could place is Judge Tim O'Grady. Lacey looks into the records of her neighbors and finds that there is a previous drug-related charge. When the two detectives go to visit O'Grady, the judge mentions Cagney's father whom he considers a close personal friend. After much thought, Cagney decides to go after O'Grady despite her father's wishes and his revelation about Cagney and Lacey's rapid ascent in the force. Lacey deals with her son's problems the only way she knows how. After the evaluations are finished, the detectives have a lot to say to Cagney, especially Lacey. Commercials deleted.
