Summary
In this documentary special hosted by actress Jill Eikenberry of the TV series "L.A. Law," over 100 survivors of breast cancer from across the United States explore the emotional impact that the disease has had on their lives. First Lady Nancy Reagan, actress Jill Ireland, and writer/feminist Gloria Steinem, as well as a broad cross-section of the American population, describe their experiences in learning to cope with the disease, the reactions and attitudes of family members and co-workers, and the treatment process involved. Included are clips of Eikenberry with some of her family members who have also suffered from breast cancer; Eikenberry and her husband, actor Michael Tucker, in a scene from a 1987 episode of "L.A. Law"; and a therapy session held by Vital Options, a foundation dedicated to assisting young adults with cancer. Includes commercials, promos, and a PSA.
