The Paley Center is among the cultural institutions participating in the second annual Creative Week NYC, a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media, music, film, and the fine arts, taking place in New York throughout the second week of May 2010.

Documentarian Doug Pray, whose earlier films explored hip-hop DJ-ing (Scratch) and surfing (Surfwise), turns to the ad game, profiling some of the most revered men and women in the business in this 2009 film, a Grand Jury Prize nominee at the Sundance Film Festival. Pray focuses on a posse of mavericks who revolutionized the industry with highly creative, convention-busting work, including Lee Clow (creator of iconic spots for Apple), Rich Silverstein and Jeff Goodby (“Got Milk?”), Hal Riney (everything from Bartles & Jaymes to Ronald Reagan), Dan Wieden and David Kennedy (Nike), George Lois (“I Want My MTV”), and May Wells (“I [Heart] New York”). Produced by the One Club, a trade group celebrating excellence in advertising (2009; 86 minutes)

PALEYFEST08: Mad Men
The Paley Center for Media saluted the acclaimed AMC drama series Mad Men with this special symposium in Los Angeles. TV Guide senior critic Matt Roush interviews Matt Weiner, creator of show,  along with such cast members as Jon Hamm (Don Draper), Elisabeth Moss (Peggy Olson), John Slattery (Roger Sterling), Robert Morse (Bertram Cooper), Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell), and Christina Hendricks (Joan Holloway). Highlights from the show, selected by Weiner, are screened. (2008; 107 minutes)
