How “News Influencers” Have Transformed Political Media
6:30 pm
The Paley Museum, 25 West 52 Street, NYC
“News influencers”—a term encompassing both legacy media and independent journalists with large social media followings, who regularly post about news or politics—are significantly transforming how people consume and share news. Journalists and media experts from across the political spectrum will explore the impact of news influencers on politics and how they develop personal connections with viewers. The panel will also look at how independent digital journalists are bringing a fresh spin to political coverage, and their impact on legacy media, especially when it comes to reaching younger audiences.
