The Paley Center for Media Convenes International Council in London

New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA—On June 23, 2008, The Paley Center for Media will convene a special one-day International Council session in London, co hosted with the BBC and WPP Group. The Paley Center's International Council meetings bring together media executives from around the world to advance the exchange of ideas among leaders in global media, entertainment, and communications. 

More than sixty executives from nearly twenty countries are expected to attend the London session which will be held at the BBC's Broadcasting House in Portland Place. Confirmed participants include BBC Director General Mark Thompson; WPP Group Chief Executive Sir Martin Sorrell; Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin; BT Group Chairman Sir Michael Rake; and EW Scripps President and CEO Ken Lowe.  Off-the-record discussions will focus on such issues as the role of regulation in innovation, challenges in building new revenue streams, and the convergence of traditional and new media.

"The Paley Center's International Council is a forum for media executives and global thought leaders to come together on a regular basis for candid, forward-focused conversations about critical issues for their businesses and consumers," said Pat Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of The Paley Center for Media. "This one-day session will continue the discussions that began at previous International Council meetings held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2006 and Silicon Valley, California in 2007."
