In this episode, host Rick Nelson performs "Believe What You Say" and chats with co-host Dionne Warwick about the song, originally released in 1958. John O'Banion sings "Love You Like I Never Loved Before," and Warwick chats with comedian Waylon Flowers and Madame, the latter of whom expresses great jealousy over Warwick's impressive recording career. Kim Carnes sings "Bette Davis Eyes," Ronnie Milsap performs "Am I Losing You," and comedian Marty Cohen performs a satirical commercial for his beloved "Marties" blue jeans. Nelson introduces a clip of "Solid Gold" fans lip-syncing to Rockpile's "Teacher Teacher," and Warwick performs her classic "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," followed by Rupert Holmes with "Escape (The Piña Colada Song.)" Madame chats with the Solid Gold dancers, and Nelson introduces the band Styx, who performs "Too Much Time on My Hands." Nelson then performs "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "It's Late."

Throughout the program, the Solid Gold Dancers perform numbers to the top ten songs of the week, including Steely Dan with "Time Out of Mind" at #10, Climax Blues Band with "I Love You" at #9, Gino Vannelli with "Living Inside Myself" at #8, John Lennon with "Watching the Wheels" at #7, James Taylor and J.D. Souther with "Her Town Too" at #6, REO Speedwagon with "Take It on the Run" at #5, Grover Washington Jr. with "Just the Two of Us" at #4, Smokey Robinson with "Being With You" at #3, Juice Newton with "Angel of the Morning" at #2, and Sheena Easton's "Morning Train (Nine to Five)" at #1, performed live on stage. Commercials deleted.
