Can't make it? Join us for an upcoming session on January 30 or February 6, 2027

An interactive workshop for parents and caregivers on understanding AI and supporting children’s critical thinking. Children ages 11 and up are welcome to attend with a parent or caregiver. How is artificial intelligence shaping the way children learn, communicate, and interact with the world? How can parents and caregivers help children navigate AI thoughtfully, safely, and responsibly?

The Paley Museum, in partnership with Day of AI, invites parents and caregivers to an interactive workshop exploring how AI works, where children encounter it in everyday life, and what families should know about its benefits and risks.

Through real-world examples, hands-on activities, and guided discussions, participants will explore how AI learns from data, why it sometimes makes mistakes, and how to recognize misinformation, bias, and privacy concerns. The workshop will also introduce practical strategies for helping children evaluate AI-generated information, use AI to support rather than replace learning, and develop independent thinking skills.

Participants will leave with conversation starters, practical strategies, and resources from the Day of AI Family AI Literacy Toolkit, developed in collaboration with Common Sense Media, to continue exploring AI together at home.

No prior experience or technical knowledge is required.

Founded at MIT, Day of AI is an independent nonprofit dedicated to helping students, educators, and families understand and responsibly use AI.

Free for Paley Members, included in General Admission.
