IT'S YOUR MOVE: GOODBYE, FAREWELL, AND AMEN {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy television series about the misadventures of a teenage scam artist and his conflict with his mother's new boyfriend. It's time for cheerleading tryouts, and Julie can't find her special cheerleading panties. She does not suspect Matthew is the culprit due to his recent "probation." The new cheerleading coach, Ms. Gulch, demands perfect attire and attendance, acting harshly towards the cheerleaders in the locker room. She also complains to Norman about dirty gym equipment and asks her to meet her after school to help clean it. Julie discovers that her pom-poms are missing as well, and suspects that someone is out to get her. She goes to the equipment room to search for spare pom-poms but somehow gets locked into the equipment cage, missing her cheerleader tryouts. Julie returns home, upset about missing tryouts. She convinces Matthew to devise a scheme to get back at whoever locked her in the cage. Matthew and Eli look for clues in the locker room, starting with opening Julie's friend Angela's locker. Another cheerleader, Connie, tells Matthew that he can't trust Angela, while Angela says the same thing about Connie. Eli and Matthew find ammonia and a demolitions guide in the locker of Freida, another cheerleader. Matthew and Eli gather all of their suspects at the apartment, including Connie, Angela, Freida, Principal Ellis, Norman, and Ms. Gulch. One by one, Matthew uncovers the culprits and their motives: Angela stole Julie's panties as revenge for stealing her boyfriend, Connie was jealous of Julie's status as cheer captain and stole her pom-poms, and Freida wanted to get revenge on Julie for ruining her perm, although she did not take any action. Matthew then offers conjecture as to who pushed Julie into the equipment cage. Principal Ellis is quickly discounted, but then he accuses Norman of having a secret tryst with Ms. Gulch and locking Julie in the cage to prevent her from discovering the truth. He denies this, although Ms. Gulch admits that she is in love with Norman, much to Eileen's displeasure. Matthew produces a note from Ms. Gulch to Norman to that effect. The final piece of evidence is a single strand of blonde hair found in the equipment room. Matthew deduces that it is bleached hair, and soon the assembled party discerns that Eileen is the only possible culprit. Eileen admits that she found the note from Ms. Gulch and went to school to investigate. She opened the equipment room door and, finding nothing, crumpled up the note and left. However, unbeknownst to her, Eileen accidentally caused the equipment cage to close on Julie when she opened the door. Realizing what she's done, Eileen apologizes. An argument breaks out and soon everyone quarrels with each other; Matthew and Eli leave, satisfied that their job is done. Commercials deleted.
