Summary
The first episode in this African-American-based sketch comedy program. Creator and star Keenen Ivory Wayans opens this program by introducing DJ SW-1 and the in-house dance troupe, The Fly Girls. Sketches include the following: an installment of "Love Connection," in which host Chuck Woolery interviews the materialistic Robin Givens about her first date and quickie marriage to slow-witted boxing champion Mike Tyson; "Great Moments in Black History," which describes the untold story of the first black man on the moon; the "Homeboy Shopping Network," featuring two enthusiastic "salesmen" offering stolen goods ranging from jewelry to a NASA satellite dish; tax advice from "Sanford and Son" star Redd Foxx, who is then accosted by his sharp-tongued nemesis Aunt Esther; a saleswoman's determined attempts to prove that a customer is "not the right sort" to have an Equity Express credit card; and an installment of "Men on Films," in which two flamboyant pals offer their opinions on such movies as "Do the Right Thing," "The Karate Kid, Part III," "Great Balls of Fire," "Black Widow," "Miss Firecracker" and "Dangerous Liaisons," frequently concluding that they "hated it!". Commercials deleted.
