DIRTY SEXY MONEY: THE BRIDGE (TV)
Summary
On in this drama series about a troubled lawyer whose life is overtaken by his employers: a super-rich, morally-challenged family in New York City. In this episode, Simon acknowledges that he worked with Dutch and invites Nick to further discuss the matter over dinner. As Freddy plans his bachelor party, Nick tries to sow peace between the twins, who are soon to turn 25 – and inherit $25 million apiece from their grandfather. Tripp, annoyed by their self-centered squabbling, decides not to tell Nick about his bombshell discovery about one of his kid's true parentage. "Gustav," guilt-ridden thanks to Brian's lesson about God's stern views of deception, confesses to Mei Ling Hwa that he is actually his biological son, and she furiously demands a divorce. A blissful Jeremy and Natalie plan their future together as spouses and parents, and Juliet is stunned to overhear the news of Natalie's pregnancy, while elsewhere Karen hints that she will tell Ellen about Carmelita if Patrick does not ensure Freddy's acceptance into the prestigious Tehnbrook social club.
Learning that Jeremy plans to throw his lavish 25th birthday bash right on the Brooklyn Bridge, Tripp decides to secretly delay the twins' trust fund for five years in order to teach them a harsh lesson about responsibility. Lisa buys some eccentric wall art as Patrick worries about Karen's "friendship" with Ellen, and Juliet tells Nick that Natalie is lying about her pregnancy. An emotional Brian laments his fatal mistake in lying to Mei Ling Hwa about his son, and Nick advises him to try to make amends before proceeding with a divorce. Jeremy refuses to believe Nick's claim about Natalie, sure that she would not deceive him, and at her 18th century-themed party, Juliet resolves to finally kiss Ryan for the first time. At dinner, Simon confirms that he is the mysterious "C," Dutch's former associate and confidant, revealing that Dutch planned to leave Tripp and work for him right before his untimely death, implying that Tripp may have killed his turncoat lawyer to protect his many secrets. Mei Ling Hwa tells a deeply remorseful Brian that she will at least consider a reconciliation after a period apart, and Juliet spots Ryan kissing someone else just as Jeremy, off partying on the Brooklyn Bridge, is heartbroken to learn that Natalie has indeed lied and is not pregnant.
Juliet rushes to her brother's party just in time to see him deliver a drunken – and musical – rant about his fairweather friends and his sense of loneliness, and Brian brings his son to stay at the Darling family home. Tripp furiously scolds Jeremy and threatens to revoke his trust entirely, though Nick suggests that he is wrong to "scare" his children into behaving. Juliet makes up with her brother and decides to wait five years to take the $25 million after all, and Nick declares that he has been too wrapped up in the Darlings' narcissistic nonsense to make time for charity work, then surprising Lisa with a strange but heartfelt gift. Patrick introduces Freddy to his highbrow Tehnbrook friends, and a humbled Jeremy tells Tripp that he wants to take an actual job for the first time. Meanwhile, Nick turns his attentions to charity work, deciding to put the Darlings' whims on the back burner for once. Includes commercials and promos.
