MYSTERY!: CAMPION, SERIES 2: MYSTERY MILE {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
Continued from T:29980. Part two of a two-part program in this mystery anthology series. This program features mystery novelist Margery Allingham's sarcastic blueblood detective, Albert Campion, who is assisted by his very own observant "Dr. Watson," Magersfontein Lugg. In part two of this episode, Campion does not act the least bit concerned about the disappearance of Judge Lobbett from Mystery Mile. Nevertheless, when Biddy Pagett disappears as well, Campion suddenly becomes nervous. Luckily, a shady man by the name of Thomas Knapp appears and informs Campion of Biddy's whereabouts. Knapp, Lugg, Campion, Giles, and Marlowe embark on a rescue mission to save Biddy. Alhough they are successful, they are confused by the fact that she was being held by the same gang that has been after Judge Lobbett in the hope that she would lead them to him. Obviously, the gang has no idea what happened to the judge. Soon, Judge Lobbett's photo appears in the newspaper. Campion finally must confess that he arranged for the judge to disappear in order to protect him. Now Campion realizes that he and Giles must bring Lobbett back to the estate in order to settle things with "Sinister" once and for all. When the three of them return to Mystery Mile, however, they discover that the members of the Pagett household have been drugged. Campion decides that the whole thing is a trap and sends Lobbett out to sea with Giles. Campion remains on Mystery Mile with the only clue Lobbett has to the identity of "Sinister": a children's fairy tale about Sinbad. Campion hopes to decipher the clue before it is too late.
