VERONICA'S CLOSET: PILOT {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The pilot in this comedy series about Veronica "Ronnie" Chase, the "Queen of Romance," founder of a successful lingerie empire, Veronica's Closet. In this episode, Ronnie appears on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where she details her marriage and "perfect" husband. That night, Ronnie realizes that her husband Bryce may be cheating on her yet again. At work, Ronnie deals with her latently gay assistant Josh before telling business manager Olive that she's thinking of leaving Bryce. Olive, meanwhile, implores Ronnie to start cheating. Then, catalog packaging representative Leo arrives to offer a proposal -- superimposing Ronnie's head on a younger woman's body for the new cover, due to Ronnie's less-than-svelte figure. Later, Ronnie gets marital advice from her limo driver father Pat. After newspaper reports of another infidelity from Bryce, Ronnie begins binge eating and finally agrees to select her new body double, a model named Tree. Eventually, Ronnie sets up a faux romantic dinner with Bryce to dupe the paparazzi, where she is shocked to learn that Bryce has slept with Tree. Ronnie then engineers a new shot for the paparazzi. Commercials deleted.
