Upon its original release in the 1990s, The Beatles Anthology documentary series was a total revelation: a firsthand account of the iconic band's history, in their own words, with previously unreleased footage, studio recordings, and live performances.
The beautifully restored series is expanded to nine episodes for its streaming release on Disney+ beginning November 26. The Paley Museum is pleased to screen Anthology: Episode One on December 2. You will experience the band’s gritty, hungry early days beginning in Liverpool. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr take us along for the ride as they revisit the highs and lows and twists and turns of becoming the world’s most famous band.
The Beatles Anthology has been restored by Peter Jackson's Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand, working closely with Apple Corps’ production team. Paley’s newly renovated theater is the perfect place to see and hear The Beatles like never before.
After the screening, Beatles experts will discuss why the Anthology series is a crucial historical document, preserving the history and legacy of the world's greatest band, as told by The Beatles themselves.
