Eija Ailasmaa

Eija Ailasmaa has been the chief executive officer of Sanoma Magazines since 2003. She played an important role in the creation of this company when Sanoma WSOY acquired the VNU Consumer Information Group in 2001. At that time she was in charge of SanomaWSOY’s Finnish magazine publishing, Helsinki Media, which was then merged to the acquired unit and the European Magazine Champion was born. Her introduction to the world of magazines came in 1985, when Ailasmaa became editor in chief for Kodin Kuvalehti.

Serhat Albayrak

Serhat Albayrak graduated from Bosphorus University’s political science and international relations department. From 1998 to 2000 he worked on Wall Street and received an MBA from Pace University in the United States. He worked as a manager at Vestel, a general manager at Çalik Holding AS, and served as the chairman of the executive board for Star Medya Yayincilik. Albayrak has been a board member of Çalik Holding AS since 2007. He currently serves as the vice president of the board at Turkuvaz Media Group.

Since 1991 he has been involved in launching or restructuring a number of private TV channels, including Show TV, Cine 5, Olay TV, NTV, CNBC-e, CNN Turk, Fenerbahce TV, Kanal D Romania, and TEB KOBI TV. He returned to Dogan Media Group in 2002 as CEO and president of CNN Turk.
