Founded in 1960 with a handshake between Mark McCormack and golf legend Arnold Palmer, IMG is currently the world's premier and most diversified sports, entertainment, and media company. As president of IMG's global sports and entertainment enterprises, George Pyne leads an operation that spans thirty countries and includes the industry's pre-eminent clients and events in college sports, motor sports, golf, tennis, fashion, and entertainment. Prior to IMG, Pyne was COO of NASCAR and the second non-family member in 57 years to join its Board of Directors. He also worked at the Portman Companies, where he helped develop a strategic plan for the company's $2 billion debt restructuring. He was later appointed executive director of its AMC Events division, which creates and manages marketing events for major sports properties. Pyne has been named to the Sports Business Journal's "Forty Under Forty" list three times, and has been named one of Advertising Age's "Top-100 Marketers." Pyne is a graduate of Brown University.
