Jeff Wachtel, President, Original Programming, USA Networks, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions

Veteran television executive and executive producer Wachtel is USA’s president, original programming, and co-head, original content, Universal Cable Productions. Based in Los Angeles, Wachtel oversees all original programming, including scripted series, reality/alternative, original movies and miniseries. In his role for the studio, he develops content for USA and all media platforms. He reports to Bonnie Hammer, president, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions.

Wachtel joined USA in 2001 as executive vice president of series and long-form programming. In his current position, he oversees all original programming, including scripted series, reality, original movies and miniseries for USA. This includes the award-winning and critically acclaimed original series such as “Monk,” which helped make USA the #1 rated cable network across the board for the past three years.
